Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about buying, selling and trading on Handbag.trade.
Buying bags
How do I buy a bag on Handbag.trade?
Browse the Bags page, open a listing you love and use the "Message the seller" button to ask questions, agree on a price and arrange payment and shipping directly with the seller.
How do I know a bag is authentic?
Sellers are asked to upload clear photos of serial numbers, date codes, hardware and any authenticity cards or receipts. Ask the seller for additional photos, read their reviews, and consider a third-party authentication service for high-value purchases.
Can I leave a review after buying?
Yes. Signed-in members can review any listing and individual listing photos. Honest reviews help the whole community buy with confidence.
What if the bag is not as described?
Contact the seller first through your Handbag.trade messages so there is a record of the conversation. If you cannot resolve it, reach out to our team through the Contact page and include the listing link.
Selling bags
How do I list a bag for sale?
Create a free account, verify your email address, then choose "New listing" from your dashboard. Add a title, description, designer, condition, asking price and as many photos as you like.
Does it cost anything to list?
Listing on Handbag.trade is free. You agree payment and shipping terms directly with the buyer.
What photos should I include?
Show the front, back, base, interior, hardware, stamps, serial or date codes and any wear. Add descriptive alt text to each photo so every shopper, including those using screen readers, knows what they are looking at.
Can I edit or remove my listing?
Yes. From your dashboard you can edit your listing, manage its photo gallery, switch it back to draft, or delete it at any time.
Trading bags
How does trading work?
Set a listing to "Trade" or "Sale or Trade", describe what you would like in return, and message other members whose bags catch your eye. Both members agree on the swap and ship their bags to each other.
How do I propose a trade?
Open the listing you want, choose "Message the seller", and include a link to the bag you are offering in exchange along with photos and its condition.
What makes a fair trade?
Compare designer, model, size, condition, included accessories and current resale value. Being transparent about wear and repairs leads to happier swaps and better reviews.
How do we keep trades safe?
Keep all conversation on Handbag.trade, use tracked and insured shipping, photograph your bag before you pack it, and check your trading partner's reviews before you agree.
